Paul has been working in the field of healthcare since graduating in 2002 with a degree in Sport Rehabilitation. Straight from University Paul was working within Holmes Place offering Personal Training, Injury Rehabilitation, Sport Rehabilitation and Sports Massage. Whilst working at Holmes Place, Paul carried on studying to further his knowledge and is now a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, as well as attending a diploma for injury management at Lilleshall with the Football Association. Delivering 25+ Personal Training sessions per week in addition to 15+ sport and injury rehabilitation sessions per week over a 2 year period took him to the stage where he felt he needed a fresh challenge. He left and joined the Next Generation Club as part of the fitness team and was part of the opening of the largest health club in Europe. Building up a client base of 5-10 personal training sessions per week and teaching various group fitness classes, Paul then set up his sports injuries clinic within Next Generation with 2 treatment rooms and a team of different therapists. Bodytalk Therapies has gone from strength to strength and forged a great relationship with the fitness team, while Paul has carried on studying. Furthering his knowledge, he has trained as a Pilates Instructor offering both mat based and reformer bed classes to members of Next Generation. In addition to this, Paul has studied to become a Myofascial release specialist enhancing his therapy skills. Over the last 12 months, Paul has been developing courses and Advanced Training Philosophy with Stuart Best leading to the development of a number of different courses either currently available or in the future. Whilst developing the courses Paul has still been offering personal training, running Bodytalk Therapies and teaching Pilates and offering Pilates to both First Team and Academy players from Saracens Rugby Club. Paul strongly believes that if you want to become a top Personal Trainer and stand out from the crowd, you must regularly attend further development courses. The field of fitness and healthcare is an exciting profession to be involved in and incredibly competitive. Your bread and butter Personal Training should still involve regular postural assessment and correction, and every trainer should have the ability to adapt to a number of different clients presented to them. |
