Postural Correction Course |

Course Overview The course has been mapped to National Occupational Standards (D444 Integrate core Stability and flexibility exercises into a physical exercise programme). Full details are available upon request. Learning outcomes - Understanding of concepts and theory of postural correction
- Understanding of muscle imbalance, tonic and phasic musculature and postural distortions
- Knowledge of postural assessment and recognition of correct posture/postural distortion
- Detailed muscle anatomy relevant to common postural distortions
- Background anatomy and physiology relevant to posture
- Corrective strategies once recognition of muscle imbalance/incorrect posture including self myofascial release (foam rolling), flexibility, and strength exercises relevant to posture correction
- The ability to recognise and aid in the correction of muscle imbalance/postural distortion, whilst applying full exercise programmes
Pre-requisites - Level 3 Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer
Assessment - 30 question Multiple Choice exam paper
- Case study including a pre-exercise questionnaire, 3 postural assessment tests, a program designed around the information gathered
Format of attendance - Two consecutive days attendance including a mixture of theory and practical
Certification and REPS accreditation - Upon completion of the course a certificate of attendance will be achieved
- Assuming the exam and case study gain the pass mark a certificate of competency will be achieved
- This course is accredited by REPs and is worth 16 CPD credits
